The first window in the Moses triplet has a pillar of fire, grass hoppers or locust, and doorposts with the blood of the lamb.  The grass hoppers/locust represent the 10 plagues that God visited on the Egyptians to induce them to let the Israelites go free of slavery.  (Ex 7-12)

The blood smeared doorposts recall the Passover meal.  This meal was established as a remembrance of God delivering the Israelites from 400 years of slavery in Egypt.  The meal involved sacrificing a lamb, smearing its blood on the doorposts, and then eating it.  The meal also was a renewal of the Old Covenant.  The Jews still celebrate this meal every spring.  (Ex 12)

The pillar of fire is representative of God’s providence and guidance.  The Israelites were led by a pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night as they left Egypt and while they were in the desert for 40 years. (Ex 13: 17-21, Num 9:15-23)  This pillar of fire is a distant foreshadowing of the tongues of fire that descended on God’s People at Pentecost.
