The third window
of the Abraham triplet has a milk jar, a vine and grapes, and honey comb
dripping honey into a crock pot. This window is concerned with the
promised land, frequently described throughout the Bible as “a land flowing
with milk and honey.” (Ex 3:8) This land is the fruit, so to
speak, of faith in God. The vine and grapes recall an image also
used throughout the Bible to explain God’s steadfast love for his people.
It is also a figure of luxuriant growth, fruitfulness, and rejoicing. (Is
5:15, Jer 2:21, Ez 15:1f, Hos 10: 1, Jn 15:1)
