Sponsors - As the Father has sent me, so I send you! We share in the life of Christ by our baptism; by that same baptism we are called to share that life with others
and we are empowered by the Spirit of God to do so! The sponsor will need to:
- be a practicing, Confirmed Catholic.
- be a spiritual friend to the unbaptized catechumen or baptized candidate.
- be able to share his or her own faith.
- attend weekly classes with their catechumen, as well as Mass and all celebrated rites.
- help introduce the catechumen to life within the Church.
- encourage and affirm the catechumen's growth in faith.
- listen to them, and pray with them.
- grow in faith along with the catechumen.
