Marriage Preparation

Preparation for marriage should begin six (or at least four) months before the desired wedding date. To begin the process, please call the parish office (573) 445-7915 to set up an appointment. Some normal requirements of the preparation process are:

• A series of meetings with one of the priests or deacons.
• The use of an instrument like the FOCCUS test.
• A weekend retreat or meetings with a sponsor couple.
• Planning of the wedding if it is to take place at Our Lady of Lourdes.

Please remember that Church law binds anyone baptized in the Catholic Church or received into it to be married in the presence of a priest or deacon and two witnesses, unless a dispensation from canonical form has been granted.
